We now have a police force to monitor and enforce our DL and minor league promotion/activation rules. Thanks again to the guys who volunteered! I am going to layout a policy suggestion below with regards to how we deal with and enforce these rules(last season we had the rules, but enforcement was lax). Just for clarity, these rules are also enforced with any team still competing in any part of the postseason. This poll will ask if you find the suggested policy acceptable.
New Policy: To enforce our league rules you will now have 3 days to activate or promote a player if he is activated or promoted by his MLB club. This means that by day 4 the player has to be on your active roster or cut. This is your responsibility. Someone from the police force may contact you to give you a heads up. Their responsibility, however, is to enforce the rules not help you monitor your roster, so do not expect one.
The 3 day period will be instituted to allow you time to make drops or trades, etc to get your roster legal. We all have busy lives, so this 3 day period also factors in some time if you are at a moment of extreme craziness which forces you to look at your roster a little less than normal. This 3 day period also makes it so that if we are talking about a minor leaguer who is getting called up for a spot start or a short cup coffee you won't be forced to make a roster move because of that.
Penalty: I have two thoughts here, so please in the reply section state your preference. Hopefully we won't need a new poll for this. First, every time you fall out of compliance you will lose one draft spot in the amateur draft(This season's draft if before and next years if after). Second, a cap space hit(maybe 250k) for the following season for every violation(this could be fixed or escalating). I believe that a penalty of manually dropping the player in question would be much to severe of a penalty.
